The Oscar winning movie ‘Slumdog Millionaire’ may have helped the slum kids who had performed in the movie to earn a flat of their own. Two of the kids cast in the film, 10 year old Azharuddin Ismail and 9 year old Rubina Ali who enacted the childhood roles of Salim and Lathika in the film live in the Garib Nagar slum in Eastern Bandra of Mumbai.

It was celebration in Mumbai too with millions glued to the the TV sets watching the Oscar ceremony in Los Angels.
